Gerald Sokol set to resign as Amtrak Chief Financial Officer in mid-February, 2017

Feb. 15, 2017: William N. Feidt has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President for Amtrak, effective on Monday, Feb. 6, 2017. Feidt is assigned to report to Amtrak President and Chief Executive Officer Wick Moorman and Feidt is responsible for the company’s finance, treasury, accounting and control functions. Most recently, Feidt was the senior vice president of financial operations at Cable and Wireless Communications in Miami, where he oversaw capital planning, procurement, and finance support for the global telecommunications company’s central operations. Gerald Sokol, Amtrak’s current Chief Financial Pfficer, is scheduled to resign in mid-February, 2017, after working during a brief transition period with Feidt. Amtrak is an independent federal government agency.
