Michael Downing resigns as Pennsylvania Republican Party Deputy Executive Director

May 16, 2017: Michael Downing has been appointed as the White House Liaison at the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). Downing has worked at GSA since January, 2017, as part of the Trump administration’s transition team. At GSA, Downing will be charged with coordinating appointee personnel, and he is set to work as the agency’s regulatory reform officer. Downing previously held several political and state government posts in Pennsylvania. He was most recently the Deputy Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Republican Party. The GSA is an independent federal government agency.
