Donna Hargens resigns as Jefferson County, Ken., Public Schools Superintendent

May 18, 2017: Marty Pollio has been hired as the Acting Superintendent of the Jefferson County, Ken., Public Schools System, effective on July 2, 2017. Pollio is scheduled to be paid a daily rate that equals $185,000 per year. As the Acting Superintendent, Pollio succeeds Donna Hargens, whose resignation was announced last month, April, 2017. Pollio, 45, has worked in the education field for twenty-two years, including two years rising through the ranks for the Jefferson County, Ken., Public Schools System. Pollio is currently the Principal of Doss High School.
