Lewis Ferebee to resign soon as the Indianapolis Public Schools System Superintendent

Dec. 4, 2018: Lewis D. Ferebee was hired as the Washington, D.C., Public Schools System Chancellor yesterday, Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser. Ferebee is currently the Superintendent of the Indianapolis Public Schools System. He was previously the Chief of Staff for the Durham, N.C., Public Schools System. Ferebee received a doctoral degree in educational leadership from East Carolina University and a master’s degree in school administration from George Washington University. He has also worked as a Regional Superintendent, an Instructional Improvement Officer and a school Principal in Guilford County, North Carolina. As the D.C. Public Schools Chancellor, Ferebee succeeds Antwan Wilson, who resigned in February, 2018.
