LaQuandra Nesbitt hired as Acting Director, Washington, D.C., Behavioral Health Department

Dec. 5, 2018: LaQuandra S. Nesbitt was hired as the Acting Director of the Washington, D.C., city government’s Department of Behavioral Health on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018. Nesbitt will retain her position as the Director of the city government’s Department of Health. Newbitt was previously the Director of the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness. Before that, she was the D.C. Health Department’s Senior Deputy Director for the Community Health Administration and the Senior Deputy Director at the Center for Policy, Planning and Evaluation. Nesbitt was also previously an Assistant Professor at the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Senior Coordinator for Health Disparities and Policy Research Initiatives at the Office of Policy and Planning at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Nesbitt received her bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, and a master of public health degree in health care management and policy from the Harvard School of Public Health.
