Dec. 5, 2018: Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) has purchased Annapolis Junction, Md.-based cybersecurity services provider G2 for an undisclosed amount in a move designed to increase the company’s professional services business and portfolio of information assurance and cyber offerings. HII officials said on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, that they plan to integrate G2 into the company’s Technical Solutions division led by Andy Green. “This transaction represents companies looking for high-end, differentiated capabilities and solutions in key growth areas like cyber,” John Song, a managing director at Baird, told GovConWire. “Huntington Ingalls is a great home for G2 to cross sell their capabilities and innovation to a much broader base of customers,” Song added. Green, the President of HII’s Technical Solutions unit, said the company plans to leverage G2’s capabilities and group of cyber professionals to expand its offerings to current agency customers. “G2 brings a valuable combination of innovation and technical expertise that has enabled it to solve complex security problems for highly sophisticated government clients,” he noted. G2 provides platforms and services in national cyber defense, cyber analytics, computer network exploitation and distributed analytics areas. HII is based in Newport News, Virginia.
