Dec. 5, 2018: Zain Ahmed has been hired as the Vice President and General Manager of the Federal Civilian and Law Enforcement division of CenturyLink. CenturyLink officials said on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, that Ahmed, a fifteen-year telecommunications industry veteran, is scheduled to oversee the delivery of network, cybersecurity, cloud computing and information technology support services to government customers. “He brings a wealth of technical knowledge and understanding of the federal marketplace that enable him to skillfully help agencies achieve their IT modernization goals,” said David Young, the Senior Vice President of Strategic Government at CenturyLink. Ahmed joined CenturyLink in late 2017 upon the company’s acquisition of Level 3 Communications. He previously worked as a Senior Director at CenturyLink. Ahmed received a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Maryland and an MBA degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
