U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin, Maryland Democrat, appointed House Representative for five House junior classes

Dec. 6, 2018: U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin, Maryland Democrat, has been appointed as the U.S. House Representative for the five junior classes of the Democratic Caucus, a Democratic leadership position. Raskin narrowly won a House election for the position, defeating U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, Alabama Democrat, with 53 percent of the votes cast. Raskin represents Maryland’s U.S. House Congressional District 8 seat.
