Scot Wrighton hired as Decatur, Ill., City Manager

Feb. 11, 2019: Scot Wrighton has been hired as the City Manager for Decatur, Ill., by Mayor Julie Wolfe. Wrighton was most recently the City Manager at Streator, Ill, a position that he held for more than four years. He was also Streator’s City Manager from 1987 to 1994. Between his two terms as the Streator City Manager, Wrighton was the City Manager for Kirksville, Missouri, for nine years; he worked on the faculty of the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government for six years; and he was the city manager of a private new urban development in India for five years. Earlier in his career, his first municipal manager’s job was as the Village Administrator in Mt. Zion.
