Karen Ashby retires as Colorado Court of Appeals Judge

March 13, 2019: Jaclyn K. C. Brown has been appointed as a Colorado Court of Appeals Judge by Gov. Jared Polis, effective on May 31, 2019, Polis announced on Friday, March 8, 2019. Brown succeeds Karen M. Ashby, who retired. Brown was most recently a Colorado District Court Judge for the 17th Judicial District, a position she held since 2016. She worked on domestic relations and civil cases. She was previously a partner, from 2013 to 2016, and an associate, from 2005 to 2013, at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP. Brown received her B.A. degree from the University of Colorado in 2002, and she received her law degree from the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2005.
