Stephanie Gallagher nominated as U.S. District Court Judge for Maryland

April 12, 2019: Stephanie A. Gallagher was nominated as a U.S. District Court Judge for Maryland on Monday, April 8, 2019. Gallagher, of Maryland, is currently a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Maryland. Before she started working as a Judge in 2011, Gallagher was a partner and the co-founder of Levin and Gallagher, LLC, where she practiced white-collar defense and civil and employment litigation. Before she founded Levin and Gallagher, Gallagher worked for six years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for Maryland, where she prosecuted violent and white-collar criminal cases. Before that, Gallagher practiced for two years as a litigation associate at the Washington office of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld, LLP. Gallagher received her B.S. degree from Georgetown University, and she received her law degree from the Harvard Law School.
