Rachel Kovner nominated as U.S. District Court Judge, New York Eastern District

April 12, 2019: Rachel P. Kovner was nominated as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Eastern District of New York on Monday, April 8, 2019. Kovner, of New York, is currently an Assistant to the Solicitor General at the Solicitor General’s Office at the U.S. Department of Justice, where she has represented the U.S. government in litigation before the U.S. Supreme Court since 2013. Kovner previously worked for four years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, where she worked as a Trial Counsel for ten felony trials and argued seven appeals at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Kovner received her B.A. degree from Harvard College, and she received her law degree from the Stanford Law School.
