Mary Kay Vyskocil nominated as U.S. District Court Judge, New York Southern District

April 12, 2019: Mary Kay Vyskocil was nominated as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Southern District of New York on Monday, April 8, 2019. Vyskocil is currently a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of New York, where she has worked since 2016. Before that, Vyskocil practiced general commercial litigation for nearly thirty-three years at the New York City-based law firm of Simpson Thacher and Bartlett, LLP. Vyskocil is the co-author of “Modern Reinsurance Law and Practice, 3d ed.,” Thompson Reuters, 2015. She received her undergraduate degree from the Dominican College of Blauvelt in Rockland County, N.Y., and she received her law degree from the St. John’s University School of Law.
