David Yassky appointed Director of State Policy, New York Governor's Office

May 13, 2019: David Yassky was appointed as the New York State government’s Director of State Policy by Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday, May 6, 2019. Yassky was most recently a dean and professor of law at the Pace University School of Law. From 2010 to 2013, he was the Director of the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission, and from 2002 to 2009, he represented a Brooklyn district at the New York City Council. As a City Councilman, he was the Chairman of the Council’s Committee on Waterfronts and the Small Business Committee. Yassky previously worked as the Chief Counsel at the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Crime for then-Rep. Charles Schumer. Yassky received his law degree from the Yale Law School, and he received a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Princeton University.
