Jamison Rounds loses race for re-election as Mayor of Crooks, S.D.

May 13, 2019: Francis Oseby is scheduled to be sworn in as the Mayor of Crooks, S.D., today, Monday, May 13, 2019. On April 30, 2019, Oseby, 70, defeated incumbent Mayor Jamison Rounds by 62 votes in a municipal election, with a final tally of 273 to 211. Crooks has about 1,300 residents and is located about a twenty-minute drive north of Sioux Falls. Oseby has worked in manual labor, and he previously owned his own company. In 2014, doctors found a tumor in Oseby’s adrenal gland, and he was in and out of treatment for the next several years. It wasn't until this year, 2019, that he started feeling better and decided to run for Mayor.
