Jefferson County, Ala., Capital Structure and Investments Director resigns
June 29, 2012: David Hooks, the Jefferson County, Ala., Director of Capital Structure and Investments, has announced that he plans to resign on July 15, 2012, according to The Birmingham News. Hooks, who was appointed to the position in February, 2012, said in an interview that he has been offered and accepted a position that allows him to move back into the private sector. Hooks said he'd work with a company "that services customers nationally" where he would be able to leverage his strengths and grow his own organization within the investment banking industry. Hooks, 56, was a managing director of public finance for Birmingham-based Sterne, Agee and Leach from 2006 to 2010, and the senior vice president of municipal finance for the firm from 2003 to 2005. Hooks is also a Homewood City Councilman, and he said he plans to remain in office for the rest of his term, which ends in November, 2012.
