Pat Cipollone set to take office as White House Counsel on Dec. 10, 2018

Dec. 6, 2018: Pat Cipollone is scheduled to officially take office as the White House Counsel on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018. Cipollone succeeds Don McGahn, who resigned on October 17, 2018. A commercial lawyer, Cipollone, in his position as the White House Counsel, is scheduled to oversee four deputies, with responsibility for investigations, judicial nominations, national security, and ethics. Cipollone is expected to appoint several more lawyers soon to succeed other officials who started under McGahn early last year, 2017, and have since resigned from office.
