Bill Priestap to retire by end of 2018 as FBI Assistant Director, Counterintelligence Division

Dec. 6, 2018: Bill Priestap plans to retire by the end of 2018 from his position as the Assistant Director for the Counterintelligence Division at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Priestap, a twenty-year veteran of the FBI, worked on organized crime and drug cases in Chicago before rising through the national security ranks of the agency after the terrorist attacks. The FBI is a division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
