Kirk Shook appointed Director, Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission

Feb. 7, 2019: Kirk Shook was appointed as the Director of the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission by Gov. Brian Kemp on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019. Shook, of Athens, is a Georgia educator with more than ten years of experience in the classroom. In In 2014, he was chosen by the State Board of Education to work on the Statewide Social Studies Resource Committee, and in 2015, he was appointed as a Member of the Working Committee that revised the state academic standards in economics. Shook was one of three finalists for the Georgia Economics Teacher of the Year award in 2016.
