Jeffrey Brown nominated as U.S. District Court Judge, Southern District of Texas

March 11, 2019: Jeffrey V. Brown was nominated as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Southern District of Texas on Friday, March 8, 2019. Brown, of Texas, is currently a Texas State Supreme Court Judge, a position he has held since 2013. Before that, he was a Texas Court of Appeals Judge for the Fourteenth District, and he was a Judge at the Texas District Court, 55th District. Brown previously worked as a lawyer in private practice. After he graduated from law school, Brown was a Clerk for Texas Supreme Court Judges Jack Tower and Greg Abbott. Brown received his B.A. degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and he received his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
